The Day After - Jasper to Canmore

So... the day ended yesterday with a tow truck, late night appetizers and several adult beverages.
With the one exception it was a great day.

Today showed us the way from Jasper, along highway 93 to Canmore. I say showed us the way, because it's a trip at least a couple of us will experience again. I'll explain later.

Not many words can describe this blog entry, other than to say the trip along Highway 93 from Jasper to Canmore is one every Canadian should experience once in their lifetime.

I used to say the Sea to Sky Highway from Vancouver to Whistler was my favourite and the most beautiful drive I had ever done. Not any more. It's still one of my favourites, but...

Dozens....  no hundreds of photo ops along the highway. But to put them all here would not do justice to the real thing. I couldn't count the number of times I heard "Wow", as we entered or exited another curve or switch-back in the road.  The few shots that follow, don't come close to the mental photographs that will be forever etched in my mind.

Canmore - Note the black Nissan Murano.
The last shot in tonight's entry shows our lodging for the next few nights in Canmore. It also shows a black Nissan Murano, which is our current rental mode of transportation.

Oh, ya...  The "showed us the way" comment at the start of this entry, refers to the fact that at least a couple of us will repeat the now familiar trip along Hwy 93, first from Canmore through Jasper to Hinton to pick up the Veracruz after repair, then back to Jasper to drop off the rental and finally back to Canmore. So, we'll be able to compare and offer an opinion on which direction provides the best viewing down this stretch of highway through the Rocky Mountains.
