Buona Pasqua

Well we're here in Rome on Easter Sunday. The 8 hour flight from T.O. on Alitalia was uneventful although I think we all have one common complaint... sore butts. Those were some of the most uncomfortable airline seats I've ever sat in. Oh well, we're here and the fun begins.

Our hotel. Older and small, but it's only a place to sleep.

Our wheels for the next couple of weeks. It's brand new and worth close to €500k. First run out for this unit and the driver (Umberto), parallel parks the behemoth in a spot I wouldn't try parking my Dodge Ram.

With it being Easter Sunday, pretty much everything is closed. We head to what appears to be one of the few neighbourhood restaurant that is bucking the "closed" trend. And, although this shot may look otherwise, it's a happening place. We just happen to be the last of our group to leave. Food was great. A variety of pizzas and salads with a little wine (don't count the bottles) suits our needs and once again (like in Spain last year), we seem to hit it off with our waitress. Steve and I debate which of the two of us has the magic but in the long run, it matters not. The result is a round of dessert shooters, on the house.

With the exception of a couple of cat naps on the plane, we've been awake close to 36 hours now.. Bed time. Off to the Tuscany area in the morning.
Ciao.
